Vignoble Bordeaux au coucher de soleil

SOIL AND CLIMATE

32 MILLION YEARS AGO...

While Bordeaux’s vineyards contain fragments of asteriated limestone in their soils, only our estate, alongside a few Grands Crus from Saint-Émilion, is fortunate enough to rest directly on a vast, continuous layer of this unique limestone. Our vine's roots are buried deep into this natural treasure, crafting a terroir that imparts unparalleled finesse and concentration to our wines.

This limestone, a remnant of ancient seabeds dating back 32 million years, is enriched with fossils of starfish and marine microorganisms. Each plot of this extraordinary soil is rich in vital trace elements—calcium, magnesium, and potassium—creating a dynamic, living foundation that nourishes our vines at their core.

ASTERIATED LIMESTONE

The natural porosity of asteriated limestone serves as a true water reservoir, absorbing moisture during rainfall and gradually releasing it during dry periods. This provides the vines' roots with an ideal balance. The soil’s water and thermal stability help reduce vine stress, allowing it to reach optimal maturity and develop beautifully concentrated aromas.

This rare and generous soil forms the foundation of our extraordinary wines, distinguished by silky tannins, intense aromas, and a deep, rich texture. A precious terroir, yielding wines of unparalleled excellence.
